Absence policy

Vacation

WeAreBrain provides you with 25 business days of paid vacation per the full calendar year of collaboration with us.

It means that 2.08 days will be credited for every month of predicted collaboration with us until the end of the year. For example, you started the collaboration with us on August 1. If you will work with WeAreBrain until the end of the year, it means that you will collaborate with us for 5 months. You will have (5 * 2.08 = 10.4 rounded up based on the general rule for rounding) 10 business days of vacation in a current year.

Unused vacation days cannot be moved to the following year nor will they be compensated. In case of termination of employment, all unused vacation days will be compensated according to your daily salary rate. Yearly vacation days will be calculated pro-rata of your last day of employment.

You may take vacation days during your probation period. In case of unsuccessful completion of the probation period, the used vacation days will be deducted from the last payment. In case of our collaboration ends before the probation period is passed, no vacation day will be compensated.

We have some procedures regarding vacation approval:

  1. If you want to take 1-3 business days off : Notify your PM/SM/Label lead/Tech Lead by sending your vacation request via PeopleForce, you must receive approval from them.
  2. If you want to take 3-10 business days off: Notify your PM/SM/Label lead/Tech Lead at least 1 month in advance by sending your vacation request via PeopleForce, you must receive approval from them.
  3. If your vacation is more than 10 business days: Notify your PM/SM/Label lead/Tech Lead at least 2 months in advance by sending your vacation request via PeopleForce, you must receive approval from them.

After approval please add your vacation days to your WeAreBrain agenda, so everybody can see you are absent if they want to schedule a meeting. Also please add a notification in your email that you are on vacation.

In addition to paid vacation, you can also take unpaid leave. The approval procedure is the same as in the case of paid vacation.
